Search Begins for the Next West Tisbury Poet Laureate
Having served a maximum term of three years, West Tisbury Poet Laureate Dan Waters is stepping aside. The resulting vacancy creates an opportunity for the town: Who will replace him?
The selection process begins at the West Tisbury Library, where library patrons are invited to submit nominations between January 2 and February 1, 2009. A committee of two full-time librarians and a community member will consider the nominations and propose a candidate to the Library Trustees, who will make their recommendation to the town selectmen. The final appointment will be made in early April.
